This blog post is specific to the people who want to be trained in Hadoop and pursue their career in the same. These days we do have a great market for BigData Analytics as business decisions are largely dependent on web data analytics. Just to be sure, Big data and Hadoop are not synonyms and Big Data Analytics is not very closely related to hadoop. Hadoop is for handling a large data and process it in a cost affective way. Below are the few questions that you have to consider before getting trained in Big Data -
Q1- Why are you going for Hadoop? Is it for Better career growth?
Ans - Just have your own answer before you join any Hadoop course. If it is for career growth just check the job market your self before you join in. Checking the job market is not asking people if hadoop is good or Bigdata is having future. You yourself has to explore naukri on how many current job openings for the same, Wat is their Job description / experience required. If you are a fresher just double check if hadoop is the right choice for you. Hadoop do have a good future, but understand, hadoop is for Big Data processing / A solution for bigdata , There are different roles that come into place with BigData : Developer, Administrator, Business Analyst etc., So target a particular role before you jump in. If you want to be a business analyst then hadoop should not be your bucket of choice. Rather some analysis / predictive analytic tools.
Q2 - What should be the prerequisite for doing a Hadoop Course?
Ans - You should have basics of core java and SQL for handling this course successfully. A bit of Scripting knowledge is an add on.
Q3 - I am a fresher, looking for a better career, Does this course suite me?
Ans - I really dont have an answer, you have to constantly check in job portals if freshers are having openings for Hadoop. But according to me Hadoop is for experienced people, who want to switch their stream for better growth and package.
Q4 - What are the good institutes for Hadoop Training online / Classroom?
Ans- I dont have a big data of all institutes across India and their reviews . But for online Training EDUREKA is doing a good job. Classroom trainings in Ameerpet, Hyderabad are offered by many institutes. Kelly is the one that can be a better one. You can find reviews on the same here. Kelly_Review_JustDial
Q5 - What should I do to get a job / better job with hadoop course.
Ans - Do not join this course if you don't have time to practice the concepts every day atleast 90min to 120 mins. Be aggressive. Practice the code simultaneously along with the instructor. Your enthusiasm is the key, others can only motivate you but finally its you who should really do the things. And most importantly do the PoC at the end of the course. Only with the PoC you can understand the real time scenarios of Hadoop and its integrated components , their real time need. These days institutes provide resume support too, so enquire the same before you join in.
Concluding - A fresher should double check the job market and join this course. An experienced person should also do check if there are relevant Hadoop jobs for your experience / Role. Do have a practice time of 2 hours daily. Do the Poc , with out which you cant get the exact flavor of the course in real time. Its your enthusiasm that drives you to success.
